Expectations:
String Orchestra is our “entry level” Orchestra made up of incoming ninth grade orchestra members from the middle schools. Beginning Orchestra Member join in the second Trimester. Since the director(s) do not yet know the students at the beginning of the school year, this is where they get familiar with your playing abilities and work ethic.
The purpose of this orchestra is to bring the talents from various middle school backgrounds to build a unified group of musicians.

Registration:
Mainly 10th-12th Graders - Open to everyone!
Performances:
All six band Orchestra (Fall, Holiday, Marathon, Winter, String-Fling, Spring)
Section 7AA Solo/Ensemble (MSHSL event)
Section 7AA Category 2 Large Group Contest (MSHSL event)
Trip (every two years)
Expectations:
Sinfonia is open for anyone in 10-12th grade that has already been previously enrolled in either Level 1 Orchestra or Beginning Orchestra. Sinfonia members are made up of mostly 10th graders or students in 11th and 12th grade that aren't looking/ready for the rigor of the Honors Level 3 Ensemble.
The purpose of the group is to assemble students and musicians to display the talents within the Andover String program. The potential of any group is determined by the contribution of each member. To meet the potential of this group, we must create a healthy and positive environment which nurtures a sense of pride and accomplishment.

Expectations:
Concert Orchestra is an “honors course” which can boost your GPA. Therefore, there are higher expectations and responsibilities in this ensemble, but also greater privileges and performing opportunities. Concert Orchestra members must practice regularly at home to master their music for their performances.
The purpose of the group is to assemble the best musicians to display the talents within the Andover High School Orchestra program. The potential of any group is determined by the contribution of each member. To meet the potential of this group, we must create a healthy and positive environment which nurtures a sense of pride and accomplishment.
Students cannot be a member of the Level III Honors Orchestra without the Directors Placement in the ensemble.
All actively enrolled Orchestra Students are allowed to audition for the chamber orchestra. Audition materials will be posted in google classroom in october. Chamber orchestra rehearses before school from 6:45AM to 7:20AM on Tuesdays and Thursday.
