Congressional Art Competition

AH students were recognized as among the best visual artists at this year's Congressional Art Competition! Hosted by Florida's 23rd District Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the competition attracts students from all over Broward County. Out of 285 entries AH students took home 3 of the top awards! Senior Sophia Curbelo was awarded 2nd Place Overall for her painting "Where Do We Go From Here?" that delves into the environmental impact of suburban development in South Florida. Junior Alana Lodin placed 5th Overall for her drawing "Blooming" that explores self-expression with intricate anatomical and floral studies. Senior Saatvik Kaul earned Honorable Mention in the 12th Grade Category for his mixed media work "Kashmir Reclaimed: Samavar te Khos", a beautiful tribute to the Kashmiri Hindu community here in South Florida. In total, 22 AH students were represented in the exhibition that took place at Nova Southeastern University in the Rick Case Arena in the Don Taft University Center. Congratulations to all the talented artists!
