"Mom"
I want to bring focus to capturing moments. I’ve always had a problem with over analyzing the future. I often find myself in a constant worry cycle about whether or not I'm going to go downhill, or I'm going to fail. The future is daunting, and with the overwhelming pressure to succeed, we all feel the need to leave a mark on the world, I think the future scares everyone just a little bit. I’ve always wished for the opportunity to put the world around me on pause, for a moment to breathe. There are times in life where the world does stop, there are moments. Moments in time where the light hits everything just right, and you can breathe. These moments are little things, like going to a concert and screaming your lungs out with 10,000 people, driving down the highway at night with your closest friends with the radio blasting, or just enjoying the company of another human being. These moments bring me relief, that's why I create. I create drawings, photographs and paintings that bring me joy, that remind me of moments in my life where I feel free. I began taking art seriously in high school and I truly believe it allows me to be free to be myself, free of judgement, free of the overwhelming pressure of the world.
