Artist Statement

This series of photographs show the feelings and memories I carry from my childhood. The palm trees, ocean, and bright skies remind me of growing up surrounded by nature and sunshine. These places made me feel peaceful and free, like I could explore and be myself. My mom is a big part of that time in my life. Her portrait shows the love and support she’s always given me throughout the years. The clock stands for how time moves forward, but memories stay in our hearts. Even though I’m getting older and things are changing, these photos help me hold on to where I came from and who I’ve always been.
