In my portfolio, I sought to portray Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) as media depicting it is often very ableist and misinformed. I explored this disorder through the development of a story about Ms. DeValle & her 3 dissociated parts (alters). The condition is psychological, thus difficult to visualize, so I utilized symbolic imagery (RGB color mode & different clothing) to depict Ms. DeValle's dissociated mind. My goal is for viewers to gain a basic understanding of the lived experiences of those with DID such as conflicts between alters, loss of self-control, & relationship struggles.
