I have always embraced spontaneity, whether in schoolwork or photography. I often capture photos of whatever excites me in the moment, sometimes creating my best work when I least expect it. I’ve always been drawn to the unpredictability of life, and I feel this is reflected in my pictures. While I may not always have a clear plan, I believe this adaptability defines me as a person—open to change and ready for whatever comes next.
Life is like this, meant to be taken by surprise, meant to excite people and push them to their limits. That’s why I love photography so much because you never know what you are going to get until you get it. You can try to make all the conditions optimal, but the scene of the image comes down to luck and chance. I have had many instances where I wish I took that picture, or changed my settings on my camera, but I didn’t, and I am glad I didn’t. I’m glad because it has helped me grow to be a better photographer and always be ready for what is to come. Success in life, like in photography, often comes from learning through failure and embracing spontaneity.
In this particular work, I have strived to capture images that represent me the most, with all of them being taken in the moment, yet turning out to be some of the best work I have produced. All of the images were captured on the spot, with an entirely unplanned approach.
