Artist Statement

My portfolio explores the profound beauty of the ocean, reflecting my deep appreciation for this ecosystem. As a child, my family took many trips to the Florida Keys & I loved taking pictures with my underwater camera. Looking back, I remember how stress free my life was. Now, as a junior, I'm overwhelmed with pressure, so I wanted my art making practice to help me reconnect with that childlike joy. I draw & paint underwater scenes based on my original photography, composed of different elements and life in the ocean. I hope the viewer is inspired by the wonders hidden beneath the ocean's surface.
