Artist Statement

Meeting a prominent female from an Amazonian tribe inspired me to explore cultures where women lead, contrasting with today's patriarchal society. My goal is to shift the narrative from women being seen as weak to empowered. I started by interviewing and photographing women from diverse backgrounds, relying on family and friends for connections. With different mediums, each work reflects the unique character and life experiences of women from India, Congo, Peru, & Cuba, highlighting their struggles to break patriarchal boundaries & gain autonomy and respect despite cultural and social barriers
