Artist Statement

From a young age, I've had a fascination with spirituality, which motivated me to find my own beliefs. In this portfolio, I seek answer the question: How am I shaped by religious establishments and how can I process religious teachings through art making? My direct studies of global religion in Art History and Architecture transformed into the invention of deities and the retelling of myths through my own vision. My pursuits have shaped me into a deeply spiritual person whose work grows from a desire to strengthen my identity as I invite viewers to ponder about the role of religion in society.
