Workplace Safety

How will we ensure there are adequate health resources and support throughout the district?

  • All staff will communicate with the school nurse and custodial staff regarding the need for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and cleaning resources.

  • School nurse and head custodians will order supplies to begin the year and as needed throughout the year.

How will we ensure the school health office has what it needs to support optimal student care?

  • All staff will follow the protocols created by the school nurse using health department guidance.

  • All staff will follow current confidentiality guidelines regarding student and staff illness.

How will we ensure custodial staff are supported to ensure optimal environmental cleaning?

  • Custodial staff will use the predetermined cleaning schedule to sanitize all buildings.

  • Allow time and opportunity for training on new cleaning procedures including the use of PPE.

  • Provide appropriate PPE.

How will we plan for appropriate building-wide social distancing as needed?

**We will be unable to ensure social distancing in all settings. (ex. Transportation, recess, passing period) Please communicate your expectations regarding masks during these times with your child.

  • New office procedures created to ensure social distancing when people enter the office.

Mitigation Strategies

How will we plan for appropriate use/handling of materials & establish in-school organizational structures that support effective mitigation strategies?

  • Regular, scheduled cleaning of high touch surfaces using both hydrostatic sprayers and regular cleaning solution.

  • Cleaning solutions and paper towels will be available to all students to clean their desks before or after class/activities.

  • Hand sanitizer and dispensers in all classrooms

  • Additional water bottle filling stations in all buildings.

Monitor Health and Safety of Teacher/Staff, Students, and Families

How will we plan for the general health and safety of teachers, staff, and students?

  • All staff will follow current confidentiality guidelines regarding student and staff illness.

  • All staff and visitors will follow mitigation strategies outlined above.

  • In the event of a positive case(s) of COVID-19, local health officials will help identify those individuals and will follow up on next steps for both the family and school.

How will we ensure the health and safety of teachers and staff?

  • Collaboratively work with staff to determine the best course of action for students considered high risk or living with an immunocompromised individual.

  • Regular, scheduled cleaning of high touch surfaces using both hydrostatic sprayers and regular cleaning solution.

  • Cleaning solutions and paper towels will be available to all students to clean their desks before or after class/activities.

  • Hand sanitizer and dispensers in all classrooms

  • Regular washing of hands with soap and water in all settings.

  • Allow staff to wear PPE at all times, if desirable.

How will we plan for the health and safety of students?

  • Collaboratively work with families to determine the best course of action for students considered high risk or living with an immunocompromised individual.

  • Nurse, Administrators, and Success Team will monitor student absences and will contact families to ensure academic progress is being made during absences.

  • Regular, scheduled cleaning of high touch surfaces using both hydrostatic sprayers and regular cleaning solution.

  • Cleaning solutions and paper towels will be available to all students to clean their desks before or after class/activities.

  • Hand sanitizer and dispensers in all classrooms

  • Regular washing of hands with soap and water in all settings.

  • Instruction on how to wash washing hands, including the benefits.

  • Allow students to wear PPE at all times, if desirable.
