When can a student leave school?
Wishmore Cross Academy supports and guides students with their future choices and paths. Included with this letter is an information poster to show a range of different options for students aged 16 and 18.
Due to Government changes placed in 2015, students need to stay in education or training until they are at least 18 years old. However, there are lots of different routes that students can access within education, which are outlined in the Post 16/18 options poster included. Students could choose to stay in full time education or choose an apprenticeship/traineeship which provides a more vocational route.
Once a student has reached 18 and completed their learning they can then move into employment or another educational route, such as university.
