Principal's Welcome

I am extremely honoured to be given the opportunity to lead Wishmore Cross Academy (WCA) with the next step in its journey. WCA is a special school for boys aged 7 - 16 with social, emotional and mental health needs. We are proud to be part of the Academies Enterprise Trust one of the largest multi-academy trusts in England. I hope to bring my leadership experience from inner city mainstream secondary schools and  a social, emotional and mental health all through school,  to ensure that our students are equipped with the skills, confidence and ambition to achieve remarkable lives. 

Central to all that we offer at WCA is access to a robust curriculum, supported by opportunities to allow students to push their limits, be brave and become resilient, driven and curious learners.  Our goal at WCA is to equip our students with the independence to achieve ambitious targets and make informed and healthy decisions for personal success. 

I am committed to working with our staff, families and wider professionals to commission the right support for our students so that they are able understand their needs, regulate their emotions and use strategies to be successful.  Our aim at WCA is to embed consistently excellent teaching and uphold a culture of leading learning by removing barriers through understanding and working together. 

I look forward to strengthening relationships, building on the skills of our staff team and widening our therapeutic offer, whilst continuing to improve the quality of education to ingrain within our students a love for learning and skills to secure their place in the world.
