When this is EXTENDING the leader learns through planning and reflects in/ on action. Engages with external professional development opportunities including, for example, Masters courses, completion of industry recognised qualifications or international visits. Completes a range of quality outreach work sharing learning with others.

When this is ESTABLISHED the leader makes time for reflection. Seeks opportunities and challenging assignments to broaden skills and knowledge including the design and delivery of internal training and development courses.

When this is DEVELOPING the leader accepts opportunities to add to own skills and knowledge. Responds positively to all development opportunities that arise to grow and further develop own capabilities, including collaborative activities such as coaching/ work shadowing etc.

When this is BASIC the leader undertakes a range of activities to widen knowledge base including attendance at training courses, reading and e-learning.
