Term time only plus training days

8:50am – 5:00pm (which includes 5 hours per week paid study time for 39 weeks per year plus holiday allocation)

You will be required to have 5 GCSE's at grade A* to C or equivalent

You will provide general support to the teacher as part of a Learning Support Assistant team, including supporting pupils in lessons, at swimming, playtime leisure and lunchtimes, and preparing teaching resources and displays.

Priority is given to those who meet the criteria below:

· You are aged 16 – 24.

· The applicant must be eligible to work in the UK

· You are not in full time education.

· You do not have a degree or professional qualification.

· You are willing to undertake a National Vocational Qualification NVQ2 or 3.

The successful candidate will complete a Level 2 or Level 3 Apprenticeship in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools and will need to be committed to completing the course.

We are very interested to hear from anyone who may be interested in applying for the post of Supply Learning Support Assistant.

Supply Learning Support Assistants form an important and integral part of our workforce.

Their purpose is to provide cover on an ‘as and when required’ basis in the absence of regular staff or where additional staffing is needed on either School Campus or College Campus.

The casual nature of the work is such that there is no obligation for the employer to provide you with work and there is no obligation on you to accept any work that is offered (so there is no ‘mutuality of obligation’). It therefore does not confer any right to continuity or permanency of employment. The employer will determine in any one week whether you will be called upon to work and the number of hours required on any given day. (We would expect a Supply Learning Support Assistant to be available to commit to a minimum of 2 days per week).

The school will contact you when work is available. If you are aware of any period when you would not be available to work it would be useful to provide us with this information.

The appointment will be bound by the employer’s Code of Conduct, Disciplinary and Grievance procedures and other policies, copies of which are available from the Academy’s Human Resources Manager. These policies may change at any time.
