What is the purpose of the cafe?

• Students build knowledge and skills through a well sequenced series of lessons. As a result, they are more ready for employment, volunteer work and post 19 study related to hospitality. 

• The academy works in partnership with parent volunteers to strengthen pupils learning

• Parents/carers and members of the public that visit the cafe enjoy themselves  

Which pupils are involved?

• A small group of students commit to a focused period of cafe and non-cafe based learning. New pupils commence the unit of work about every half term

What do pupils learn?

• This is the intended knowledge that pupils will gain. Staff use assessment and feedback to help students build upon and remember long term what they have learned.
