Course Overview

Course Overview: The course’s key objectives are to explore key themes of world history, including interactions with the environment, cultures, state-building, economic systems and social structures, from the Early River Valley Civilization period to the Industrial Revolution.  In this course students will be given the opportunity to gain an understanding and appreciation of India’s culture and heritage. A strong focus in the course will be understanding India and its people through the comparative study of other cultures around the world. There will be a strong emphasis on developing social studies skills such as, evaluation of sources, reading, writing and oral presentation. The course will involve inquiry-based explorations.
