The On-the-Job experience and classroom training of a CW and CE are very similar to the Inside Wireman program, with both focusing on Commercial and Industrial Electrical Wiring. Completion of this program provides a pathway to becoming a Journeyman Wireman.
CONSTRUCTION WIREMAN (CW) LEVELS 2 - 5
If you are not ALREADY working with one of our signatory contractors, a minimum of 1-year of documented experience in electrical wiring is required to apply for this program, and to request to be tested-in (knowledge and skills based testing).
Applicants who are able to document and demonstrate 1 to 4 years of experience may be eligible to begin at one of the following levels:
CW2, CW3, CW4, or CW5.
Applying for the CWCE program with minimal experience does not guarantee you a job with a contractor. Due to the current lack of work available for individuals without experience in the Construction Electrician Program, we are not currently accepting applications from individuals with no experience. Please consider applying for one of our Apprenticeship Programs when applications reopen in August 2026 for Spring 2027 classes.
While completing the initial application process, please submit your documentation of Academic/Training (official transcript and certificate of completion) and/or On-the-Job experience in electrical wiring (W2/1099 tax statement and/or pay stubs) to ADMIN@aejatc.org.
CONSTRUCTION ELECTRICIAN (CE) LEVELS 1 - 3
Applicants who are able to document and demonstrate 5 or more years of experience may be eligible to begin at one of the following levels:
CE1, CE2, or CE3.
If you believe you fall into this group of applicants, and have not worked with one of the IBEW Signatory Union Contractors, please contact the IBEW Membership Development office at 404-523-8107 extension 229 or by email at MD@ibew613.org. They will help you determine what documentation you will need and with scheduling evaluations.
