AP Calculus BC is designed to be equivalent to both the first and second semester college Calculus courses. It includes all material covered in the AP Calculus AB course, along with additional integration techniques, Euler's Method for approximating solutions to differential equations, polar and parametric functions, and an introduction to infinite series.
Students are required to develop a deep understanding of Calculus concepts, and expected to apply that understanding to solve problems, including purely mathematical problems and real-world contextual problems.
Before enrolling in AP Calculus BC, students should take the equivalent of four years of secondary mathematics, including Precalculus, designed for college bound students.
