Q: What happens if my child is in close contact and/or contracts Covid-19?
A: Please make this aware to Admin, the school nurse, and your child's homeroom teacher ASAP! Your child's teacher will then communicate to you the next steps and explain our plan on how we will continue to support your child's academics from home.
Q: How will my child be supported at home during quarantine?
A: Your child's teacher will contact you about our plan to continue to support your child. We will also be providing Kinder Kits for you to pick up at the school that include at-home learning materials that your child may need as well as a chrome book.
Q: Will my child still be able to participate during the school day virtually?
A: No. As you can imagine, balancing students in person AND virtually at the same time is pretty overwhelming. However, we will be providing one-on-one time with your child on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 2:45-3:45. Kindergarten teachers plan to rotate monthly to provide support to students at home as needed. This might include small mini lessons, a read aloud, or Seesaw questions/checkups.
Q: How will my child continue participating and growing academically from home?
A: We will assign your child activities through Seesaw that might include a short mini lesson video or read aloud and a follow up activity for them to complete. We will also provide a small packet of at-home activities you can implement with your child as needed.
Q: What if I prefer less screen time and more hands-on activities?
A: The Kinder Kits will have manipulatives that your child can utilize at home. Check out our "At-Home Learning Activities" as well on our home page that provide easy-to-make fun ideas you can do with your child to practice their letters, numbers, rhyme, and more!
Q: When will my child be able to come back into the classroom?
A: As soon as your child is cleared, contact our school nurse and she will communicate this to the teacher and admin. She will provide a date for your child to come back in person.
