¡Hola chicos! Soy Señora Suleiman, la profe de español AP.
I have been living in Amman, Jordan for two plus decades, and have raised my family here. You will usually spot me in the hallways with a cup of coffee in my hand. I hold an undergraduate degree with a double-major in Spanish Language and History, a Masters degree in Interdisciplinary Education, and teaching credentials from the United Kingdom. I love languages--especially Spanish and Arabic--world travel, all kinds of music, history, coffee (already mentioned) and am an avid reader and grammar geek.
I hope you will continue to love the Spanish language as much as I do. Please read this page carefully and thoroughly. It contains LOTS of resources to help prepare you for AP Spanish.
UNITS AND THEMES FOR AP SPANISH (from College Board)
¡Bienvenidos, alumnos de español! You have chosen to take a rewarding and challenging AP course next year. I welcome you on this journey in exploring six major (blended) themes of study for this course. They are blended because they overlap both in content and in ideas. As we move through the course, you will see how each theme leads into the others. They are listed above.

SUMMER ASSIGNMENT
1) MCQs - I will upload a set of MCQs for you to do before the first day of school in August. These are practices for the Multiple-choice section of the AP Exam. I will provide you with listening files as well for some of the practices and will put everything in Google Clasroom.
Please join the Google Classroom entitled AP SUMMER 2025. The audio files will be there, labeled for the activities with which they correspond.
Please do not panic if you find them challenging. They ARE challenging.
2) Study / Review Grammar with the comprehensive grammar review *scroll down to see it*. AP Spanish is NOT a grammar class, and you are expected to have an intermediate-mid level of writing and comprehension of structures. You will have a comprehensive grammar assessment within the first month of school.
3) LISTEN to PODCASTS, RADIO NACIONES UNIDAS, WATCH PROGRAMS, INTERACT WITH SPANISH-SPEAKERS. Keep a journal (en español) of how you engaged with Spanish over the summer. You will talk about what you did when we meet in the Fall. :)
