OK FOLKS! Couple of things that you should do for this assignment. You will work through Proscenium, Thrust, Round and Flexible (Environmental & Experiential)
Open the Explore, Explain & Analyze document for instructions on what to do and links to the videos.
EXPLORE: Watch the videos and take notes on the document in the assignment called THEATRE TYPES COMPARISON SHEET
EXPLAIN: Look at the Google Slide presentation in the link, and then summarize the PROS and CONS and a description for the theatre type in the document.
APPLY: The assignment is that you are now to:
1) Select a well known fairy tale that you like. Select 3 moments from the Fairy tale that you would like to present visually. For example I might want to show Cinderella... and I would pick the moment where she is at the fireplace sweeping up in the kitchen, another moment might be where she meets her Fairy God mother and the final moment I would pick is where the ugly sisters are trying on the glass shoe. I would then draw and design a set design for each of these moments, and then add in images of what I want the stage to look like, and where I might place my people on there.
2) Your project should include some images of what you think the stage would look like for each of the 3 scenes (you can draw or find images to represent those scenes in your story).
In regards to the reflection and the assignment summative. You will share your learning and your journey. Id like to see you reflect on how you might use your skills in the future, where you might see them being applicable and how you might imagine others using these skills for theatre. Only part left is to expand outside of yourself, and the school system we are in. How do you connect yourself to the skills, and also to the world around you. This will get assessed related to how well you showcase your reflections on your journey.
Watch the following videos on the use of projections in a theatre performance OR Choose two of the photos below and write down your thoughts about this in your digital journal ROUGH copy. Consider how the set designer told & communicated visually to the audience where they are located. How does the audience know, based on what they are seeing where they are? When they are? How did they use the stage? How did they use lights? Projections?Scenery? Colour?
