The school has a few parent platforms that require you to create logins and activate access. You will receive an email from the IT and the Finance teams to activate your access to these accounts.
Schoology
The main parent platform is the school intranet, or, Schoology. This is where the school newsletter is posted, this is where the school day-to-day calendar resides, and this is the platform on which all school messages are sent to parents. Once you have an active login, you will be able to receive all messages broadcast by the Head of School, your child's Grade / class team, their Divisional leadership, their sports & activity teams, and anything else relevant. The system will automatically add you to all the relevant groups when the school year begins.
Schoology is also used by all Senior School students (Grades 5 and above) as their learning platform - students can view their courses, homework, class work, assignments etc with their own Schoology logins. As a parent connected to their account, your login allows you an overview to their courses and assignments too.
PowerSchool
PowerSchool is the portal where you interact 1-1 with the school. This is where you pick up your child's grades and report cards, see their attendance, and their individual weekly schedules. This is also where PowerSchool Forms live - an important section that holds all your personal family information like contact details, emergency numbers, authorised adults, medical & other consents for your child, allergy information, car registration details (for your car sticker), etc..
ParentPay
ParentPay is the school payments / Finance portal.
For Lower School Families
Lower School Families also use FUSION ONLINE (to pre-order lunch for the younger ones), and SEESAW - the simpler, less complex, learning platform used by Lower School students.
Lower School families will receive their Fusion onboarding code from the Catering team a few days before the start of school; and Seesaw access details from their child's class teacher once school has begun in August.
LINKS and MOBILE APPS
All these platforms can be accessed via this link on the ACS Cobham Website.
We recommend you save them as favourites on your browser.
Mobile Apps are also available and preferred by several parents because of their timely pop-up notifications. See this document for details of the mobile apps and how to activate them.
There will be optional introduction sessions via zoom in the first weeks of school, as well as gthrough the school year after that. In the sessions, you can learn tips and tricks to navigate these platforms. So please don't stress if they seem confusing at the moment. Kindly just take a moment to activate your access before your orientation session, so that you don't miss out on any messages or critical bits once the school year begins.
Dates of Schooogy help sessions can be found on Schoology.
A comprehensive weekly school newsletter is shared by the Head of School via Schoology every Friday afternoon. It summarises the activities of the week for each Division, highlights upcoming key events and any other important announcements. You can read messages from each of the Divisional Principals here too. We encourage you to read this newsletter each week.
Majority of group messages sent by the school are posted on Schoology. Each post creates an automatic email and a mobile app notification that alerts you to the message too.
Individual (non group) emails are of course used as needed for any direct communication with your family too.
Should you need to contact your child's school division, any of their teachers, or a member of the school leadership team, please feel free to email them at any time.
The school operates an open door policy; and you do not need to wait until scheduled parent teacher conferences or report card times to talk about anything academic or pastoral you wish to discuss with your child's teachers. Kindly reach out to schedule an in-person appointment at a mutually convenient time.
The following document offers some guidance on who to contact for different types of conversations, and how the lines of communication work best.
