A very warm welcome to PSO Cobham, your Parent-School-Organisation.
The PSO team is made up of parent volunteers who collaborate closely with the school to support various initiatives throughout the school year. These include building community, transition support, parent-school communication, country group and grade level parent connections, school events and more.
We are built on our three pillars of - Connect, Contribute and Celebrate. And our driving force is our neural network of parent volunteers in the community - the Grade and Country representatives, the event teams, Divisional Liaisons, and Board members. We welcome every parent to consider volunteering their time for one of the several PSO roles, big or small, and be an integral part of their child’s school community.
We look forward to meeting you to in person at one of the many community events. In the meantime, please feel free to connect via the New Families' Support WhatsApp group. Or for any questions, please reach out to IT@psocobham.org
New Families are invited to join the PSO Support group on WhatsApp using this link. Led by a group of PSO volunteers, this group is active through the summer months and a great place to receive information and ask questions about summer camps, orientation details, start of school norms, PE kits, supplies, etc
There are several other parent WhatsApp groups in the community e.g. Grade groups, Country groups, Activity / Trip groups, Marketplace, and many others. These can be joined via ACS COBHAM PARENTS 2025-26 LINK.
There is also an EXTENDED ACS COBHAM COMMUNITY which has several local area groups, alumni groups etc. This latter community is not strictly limited to current ACS parents only. You will find several alumni families on here too, , hence termed as 'extended', And you are very welcome to join.
In addition to the Welcome events in August, the PSO teams organise several initiatives and community events during the school year to provide families an opportunity to connect with each other; to celebrate school spirit, and facilitate engagement and contribution to the wider community.
All of these are organised in collaboration with the school and are supported by school facilities. Many events also provide volunteering and leadership opportunities for our students in Upper & High School as they fulfil their service learning / charitable or CAS requirements.
Here are some annual highlights:
Divisional Coffee mornings & Playground Play-dates - August, January and June
ACS Cobham Weekend Welcome Event for families (August)
International Flag Parade (September)
Trunk or Treat & Fireworks Night (November)
Staff Appreciation Luncheon (January)
International Fair (organised by Lower School team, and closely coordinated by the PSO Country Representative groups) (February)
Quiz Night for parents (March)
ACS Summer Fair (May)
Cultural celebrations such as Community Iftar, and get-togethers organised by several country groups
Grade / Class level coffees and get together organised by PSO Grade Representatives
PSO Grant Programme with a quarterly grant budget - This programme encourages students, staff and parents to apply for grants for community projects (projects that benefit the community and also require groups to take responsibility for imagining better and seeing the project through to implementation)
Hope Winter Mega-Drive & Spring into Giving Mega Drive (collections of charitable donations organised across three weeks) (in November & March)
Treats & Gifting for ACS Staff (Winter, End-of Year, Valentines' day)
Treats, ice cream and donut days for students (Sports Days, exam treats etc)
Cheer & Decorations across the campus (various points in the year)
We encourage parent participation in all of the above. None of this is mandatory of course, just a great way to get involved in your child's school community without significant time commitment (get involved for a day, a week or just a few hours!), and make friends.
Details for each of the above are shared at appropriate times during the school year. These are featured in the Schoology calendar, and can also be viewed on the PSO Website.
