The Coding and Sourcing Guides were created as a separate site, so to search content or see the entries in the sidebar you need to open the "Coding and Sourcing Guides" first!
Ask your RM for any region- or country-specific guides, or find an overview in the Region tabs of the Researcher Link List here.
ACLED Net contains all the information for Researchers that are relevant across the organization. As mentioned on the front page already, the content is split into two different pages:
This is here the main page and you can find everything that is not related to coding, Analysis guides, invoice procedures, HR matters, Travel guidelines, etc.
All ACLED-wide coding rules are on the Coding and Sourcing Guides, there you will find everything you need to know around the coding process.
Make use of the sidebar which is located on the right side, on a small screen you need to click the "menu" button, the icon that consists of three parallel horizontal lines ≡
You can also make the site smaller to make the sidebar visible and stay: Press and hold the CTRL key, and then press the - (Minus sign) to make objects on the screen smaller.
You can search ACLED Net by using the search function, which you find on the right upper corner.
Be aware that the Coding and Sourcing Guides is a separate site, which means that you need to open that site first and use the search bar there to find coding-related articles.
If you want to add your personal highlighting, you can install an extension. For example, Diigo Web Collector - Capture and Annotate, or Weava Highlighter - PDF & Web.
Those extensions allow you to highlight your text right on the webpage, as well as add sticky notes. This is only visible to you and saved for your next visits.
Some extensions further save all highlighted text in a dashboard and allow you to make an outliner, where you can add all highlighted text into one document. The example below was created with Diigo Web Collector. But be aware that ACLED Net is updated regularly, thus, you should check that text you copied into a separate document is still relevant.
ACLED Net is a controlled document. Whilst the pages may be printed, the electronic version posted on ACLED Net is the controlled copy. We do not recommend downloading ACLED Net, since it is constantly being updated and, only by browsing the website directly you can be sure to have access to the most updated rules and procedures.
