Biology is the branch of science which encompasses the study of life. It describes the characteristics, classification, and behaviors of organisms, how species came into existence, and the interactions they have with each other and with the environment. Biology has many specialized areas, covering a wide range of scales including- ecology, evolution, classification of living things, human body, reproduction, genetics, and biochemistry.

This course is designed to cover all those topics necessary to successfully prepare students for the State of Florida End Of Course (EOC) Biology assessment administered in May 2027 (TBD).

Florida Statute 1008.22 requires that the (Biology) FL End-of-Course Assessment (EOC) assessment results make up 30 percent of all students’ final course grades.  Students must earn a passing grade in this course with the 30 percent calculation applied, to earn high school credit.
