This year’s Mathematics Achievement Award goes to Luc Boswell! Luc has taken every college-level math class Williams has to offer - AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, and IB Mathematics SL - and done high quality work in each one of them. Most notably this year in IB Mathematics, Luc wrote an outstanding investigative paper modeling the relationship between force, voltage, and distance for an electromagnet. Luc also served as the Mu Alpha Theta vice president and participated in statistics research with Elon University. Congratulations on your many achievements, Luc! The Williams Math Department is so proud of you!

The Mathematics Growth Award goes to Tia Tucker! Tia has shown tremendous growth throughout her high school career, especially in AP Calculus. All year long, she has demonstrated perseverance in her study of upper-level math. Even as we transitioned to online learning, Tia’s dedication to calculus never diminished; she continued to work hard and even attended optional review sessions to better prepare for the AP Exam. Her efforts paid off as she earned straight A’s in AP Calculus this year. Congratulations on an impressive high school career, Tia! The Williams Math Department is so proud of you!
