Lower Camp

SPACE Lower Camp

SPACE's Lower Camp is a four - week summer enrichment program for students designed for students going into Kindergarten to 4th grades.  Lower Camp has a co-taught model with two teachers and one counselor.  Special attention is given to individual students by maintaining a low student to teacher ratio.

Campers, in age appropriate groups, are led by elementary school teachers, through project based learning, challenges and activities around our camp theme.  In 2023 our theme was  "Under the Sea". Campers learned about the different aspects of our planet and the environment.

Lower Campers will also attend various specials throughout the week led by certified staff. In past years, specials have included physical education, art, yoga, ceramics,  and Planet Earth.

Suzuki Violin

Suzuki violin classes are offered as an elective two or three times a week for interested students in 1st through 4th grades.  Instructions range from beginner to intermediate. Violin students will need to own or rent a violin, as they are not provided by SPACE.  You will receive additional information about this option after you register. You will be contacted with final arrangements the first week of camp.  A sign-up sheet will be sent to all lower school parents prior to the start of camp. Campers should turn in the sign-in sheet to their classroom teacher on the first day of camp. When selecting violin instruction, please indicate playing experience on the registration form.  Suzuki is only offered as part of the morning program.
