ABRHS Library Student Circulation Policy

Circulation

• ABRHS students are allowed to check out up to ten (10) library items at a time for research, study, and independent pursuits.

• The library provides an extensive collection of textbooks for student to take pictures, for in-library use, during individual study periods.

Circulation Periods

• Fiction and Non-fiction Books................................... 3 weeks

• DVDs and Videos.........................................................1 week

• Headphones............................................................... 1 day*

• Calculators................................................................. 1 hour

• Textbooks................................................................... (in library use only)

Renewals

Books and some materials may be renewed if no one else is waiting for the item. 

*Short-term loan items (Chromebooks, calculators, headphones) may not be renewed.

Overdue Procedures

Materials that are not renewed or returned on or before their due date, or are returned damaged, are not available to other students and teachers who may need or want them, and are considered overdue.

• Reminder notices are sent to students through their @abschools.org email. 

• At the end of each term, a bill will be sent to the home address and/or email address on file for the student and parent, asking for the materials to be returned, replaced, or for payment to be made for the replacement value of the item(s) within one week.  After that time, the student’s account will be frozen, and they will be unable to borrow any materials until the fine has been satisfied.

• The replacement cost for items that are lost or damaged is as follows:

  • Fiction, Graphic Novels, Story Collections …… $20

  • Manga ........15

  • General Non-Fiction (including Narrative Nonfiction, Memoir, Biography) ...... $25

  • Non-Fiction (including Reference, Encyclopedias) ......... $75

  • DVD’s...............................................................................  $15

  • Calculators: Graphing/Regular…………………….....……….$75/$20

  • Chromebook....................................................................$250

*Overdue Chromebooks will be billed after 30 days*

End of Year Procedures

Seniors

• Seniors with outstanding obligations will be unable to pick up their cap and gown for graduation until these have been met. 

Underclassmen

• Students with outstanding obligations will have their accounts frozen and be unable to check out any materials the following year until obligations are met.
