Goal:

Support student voice and learning related to antiracism, equity, and social justice.

About:

The ECARES Student Voice & Learning subcommittee works to support students at ABRHS committed to activism in the areas of social justice, equity, inclusion and diversity. We have advocated for students in ABSEJ (AB Students Committed to Equity & Justice) who drove the retirement of the Colonials mascot, and we continue to work with them on their remaining Calls to Action. Over this past summer, we engaged students in a Juneteenth Rally and March and, due partly to our local efforts, it has been officially recognized as a state holiday. In early December we will be sponsoring an Activist Summit of the many clubs at the school committed to this important work. We encourage students who would like to join one of these clubs to check out the Activities & Clubs page on the ABRHS website under Extracurricular Activities.
