Able South Carolina and the South Carolina Department of Vocational Rehabilitation provide WIOA mandated Pre-Employment Transition Services to students in the Midlands, Pee Dee Region, and the Upstate.
We offer in-person self-advocacy pre-employment transition services for your students at school. We also understand some schools utilize e-learning platforms and we are eager to host virtual classes for those students. Regardless of the format you choose, each lesson will be an interactive discussion and guided activity facilitated by a trained youth transition specialist. All of our curriculum is based on principles of universal design and informed by our staff's unique background in public education, special education, social work, and rehabilitation counseling. All curriculum is annually revised with feedback received from teachers and with data gathered from student performance and engagement metrics. All lessons are completely free!
Upon request, teachers will be given reports detailing the attendance and progress of students in reaching objective measures. Able SC will also work with teachers and VR transition counselors to create individualized plans to bolster students who did not meet objective measures. This can be done through traditional academic partnerships or individualized independent living specialist services.
Able SC has proven itself as a leader in serving the disability community and we look forward to continuing to partner with teachers to provide meaningful learning opportunities for students with disabilities across the state
