Unit 4 explains the processes by which people learn behaviors. This unit will cover the principles of classical conditioning and operant conditioning, as well as social ways in which people learn behavior. Many of the principles in this unit are used in treating people with various mental and behavioral issues. Classical conditioning provides the methods used most commonly to help people get rid of phobias (fears). Also, many of these methods are used with children in the process of teaching them appropriate behavior. If you have ever been rewarded or punished you have experienced operant conditioning! If you would ever like to change any of your own behavior (bad habits) this unit will teach you how to do that!
