Pupil Support Staff Framework
This national professional learning framework has been developed to help pupil support staff access and engage in their own professional development. This is suitable for Classroom assistants, ASN assistants and Pupil Support Teachers.
There are 3 levels of training:
Informed: this is aimed at education staff who work with children and young people receiving universal support.
Skilled: this is aimed at practitioners working with children and young people that have targeted support.
Enhanced: this is aimed at practitioners who work with children and young people that have profound and complex needs.

GTCS Professional Guides
GTC Scotland has published five professional guides focusing on additional support needs in partnership with specialist bodies.
The guides provide practical guidance for teachers and are part of GTC Scotland’s services to enhance teacher professionalism as part of our advisory role as the professional body for Scotland’s teachers.
