Wellbeing support for colleagues is a key priority in Argyll and Bute. This section provides information about the Argyll and Bute HT Coaching Pathway, Education Scotland's Supporting Workforce Wellbeing offer and the Employee Assistance Programme provided by Health Assured.
Argyll and Bute HT Coaching Pathway
One to One Coaching offer
The One to One Coaching offer provides colleagues with a safe space to think to reflect and to navigate leadership challenges. The Mudd Partnership will offer 5 one hour sessions to each Head Teacher and the sessions will be arranged for a date and time that suits you.
Hexagon Leadership and Coaching Programme
The Mudd Partnership’s Hexagon Leadership and Coaching programme is for experienced Headteachers who have accessed other leadership development opportunities and are looking for a different experience. One where they can explore themselves as leaders and leadership challenges from a range of angles.

Stepping Stones
This programme provides support, challenge and professional learning for post-probationary teachers in the first four years of their career. Stepping Stones (education.gov.scot)
Into Coaching
This unique programme offers educators across Scotland the opportunity to take the first step into learning about coaching and to start to have coaching conversations. Specifically, participants will learn about the coaching mindset, the ‘advice monster’ and how to conduct basic coaching conversations through active listening and asking curious questions. 1:1 Coaching
This digital coaching programme has been designed to support you with any of the challenges you are facing right now. The programme is delivered by industry qualified coaches, all of whom have experience of working and coaching within education. 1:1 Coaching (education.gov.scot)
Group Coaching
Group coaching sessions allow a coaching space for practitioners and leaders to share their experiences and challenges within their role. These group coaching sessions are in place to ensure practitioners and leaders do not face isolation in the challenges of their role. Supervision spaces
Education Scotland, supported by This is Milk has created Wellbeing Supervision Spaces to give you the opportunity to nurture and support one another and talk about your wellbeing in a safe space. Join us for a series of sessions where you will learn what Wellbeing Supervision Spaces are and explore some simple tools to help look after your wellbeing and help steer those you lead. Employee Assistance Programme
Health Assured is an independent, external organisation who work to a robust, professional code of conduct.
Some of the services provided are listed below:
Specialist information in regards to legal queries, consumer rights, debt or domestic matters – the counsellor will assess your requirements and transfer you to an appropriate specialist, eg legal, consumer, or financial information.
Personal – marital, relationship and family concerns, emotional issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, behavioural difficulties, bereavement, sexual orientation and gender identity. The counsellor will conduct an in-depth assessment and if appropriate telephone counselling will commence immediately, otherwise the counsellor will agree a convenient time to begin counselling sessions.
Work-related – the counsellors offer 24-hour confidential support for work-related concerns such as stress, bullying, anger management and career direction.
Employee management – support to managers from counsellors, experienced HR specialists, or occupational psychologists.
Health – advice on health issues such as symptoms and treatments including CBT, medication and surgery, inoculations, travel vaccinations and lifestyle programmes (e.g quitting smoking).
Child and dependent care – such as advice on caring for children, elderly relatives and disabled dependents, and searches for finding care homes, nurseries etc.
