Our S1 Showcase open evening takes place on Monday 28 September 4:30pm - 6:30pm.  We warmly invite our S1 families to the school to visit our faculties and classrooms to meet our teachers, explore the S1 curriculum and interact with lessons.  St Macchiato, our school Barista Cafe will be open to purchase refreshments and treats prepared by our pupils (cash only) along with Pre-Machar, our upcycle clothes store run by our Retail class.

You will also have the opportunity to purchase our nearly new school uniform stock (for a small donation), learn more about how we communicate with our parents and carers including pupil tracking reports, meet our parent council and discover co-curricular opportunities for your young person.

As part of our school improvement plan we recognise the need to develop areas of Inclusion and Equality.  We would appreciate your parent voice so we can we can co-create an anti-racism programme that is purposeful and appropriate in our school community.

During our Community Conference on 6th May 2026, parents and carers of our youn gpeople suggested a number of points for improvement.  See the link below to find out about our next steps and what we've done so far.

Tickets are now on sale for the S1-S2 Disco taking place on Thursday 17 September, 6:00pm-7:30pm.  Tickets cost £3.00 and include a drink and snack - cash or card payment.  See Mr Kerry or Miss Seymour.  You can also bring money on the night for other purchases.

Following the updated Guidance on Mobile Phones in Scotland's Schools from the Scottish Government and consultation work in school, please see St Machar Academy's 'Bag or Box' procedure.

'Routine and Expected' visits are an accepted part of the curriculum that take place during the school day.  These visits are to local venues within the local school area or city boundary, involve easily managed activities and happen on a regular basis.  We ask that all parents/carers and pupils 16+ complete an Annual Block Consent to cover these excursions to support class activities.  Emails have been sent to all families so if you have not received this please check all mail boxes.
