Kessia Reis recently visited Altrad Sparrows for work experience at their Aberdeen facility after she joined them last summer as part of a Russell Anderson Foundation visit.
Kessia commented on her week with Altrad Sparrows, "I toured the workshops and witnessed demonstrations of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques. At the training centre, I sat in a working at height course and watched crane operations up close with the centre's real offshore pedestal crane. After learning drawing and observing the innovation technology and project designs, I am fascinated and inspired to explore this more."
"T5he experience exceeded my expectations as my best professional encounter. The Altrad Sparrows team was extremely welcoming, and I learned many interesting things. I hope to with Altrad Sparrows again; thanks to everyone who made this week so special."
Alasdair Smith, team leader added, "It was a delight and inspiration to have Kessia join us for a work experience. These opportunities benefit the students, our business and the wider engineering industry. The chance to introduce young aspiring engineers to the industry and learn about their aspirations and views of engineering and women in engineering is inspiration."
