We would like to support the DEC British Red Cross, which is helping with the Turkey-Syria earthquake that is happening right now. We had the idea of asking everyone to wear red, green, white and black (to represent the flags of Syria and Turkey) or casual clothes, and bring in the suggested donation of £1. We will go around the classes to collect any money and explain why we are having the fundraiser. We will also have posters and speak in assembly.
Notes:
We will be holding the Turkey-Syria fundraiser on the 10th of March.
We are making posters to go all around school.
We spoke about the fundraiser in assembly.

The Turkey-Syria fundraiser was a huge success and we raised a grand total of... £673.56
The Community Cafe organised by the Community Care Pupil Leadership group also raised £78.70 which they kindly added to our total. Thank you!
Evaluation:
What went well:
We used our discussion skills well and came to agreements successfully.
We were successful at coming up with ideas with some input from adults.
We successfully raised a lot of money for the charity.
The school enjoyed taking part in the dress up day.
We didn't know each other at the beginning of the group but now know each other much better and worked well together.
What could have gone better:
We spent a lot of our time talking through ideas and less time taking actions to achieve them.
We began planning another idea but did not have time to carry it out. We would like to pass these ideas on for the next Charities group so they can choose to continue them if they like.
Charities we considered as options to support:
Animal shelters
Children in Need
Homeless
Local families in need
Food banks
Fundraising ideas:
Raffle to win a hamper for Syria and Turkey earthquake.
Clothing/food collection
Crazy hair day
Matilda
