Computing Science is increasingly important in everyday life. Social networking, applications (apps), mobile connectivity and other devices are embedded in the world around us and it is important for all of us to understand more about how computer related devices work and can impact our lives. The main aims of the course are to allow students to develop and express their computational thinking skills across a range of contemporary contexts and to develop and apply skills in analysis, design, implementation and informed evaluation of digital solutions to everyday problems. The course is a blend of both technical and social aspects of computing in general and should provide students with a range of transferable skills, essential for gaining employment.
