Activities Week
Activities Week
Activities Week at Oldmachar Academy is a dynamic and enriching experience designed to inspire and challenge our learners beyond the classroom. Through a wide variety of activities—from outdoor adventures and creative workshops to cultural visits and team-building challenges—students have the opportunity to grow as Innovative Thinkers, Collaborative Communicators, Ambitious Learners, Considerate Citizens, and Adaptable Individuals. The week celebrates personal development, community spirit, and the joy of learning in new and exciting ways.
Activities Week at Oldmachar Academy is a highlight of our school calendar, offering pupils the chance to explore new places, build independence, and create lasting memories. This past year, learners travelled to Spain, Athens, and Paris, experiencing different cultures and developing key life skills outside the classroom.
The offer changes each year and is open to all year groups. We encourage S1 pupils to begin with our in-school programme, S2/S3 pupils to try day trips and national residentials, and then progress on to our international opportunities if they wish. These experiences are designed to foster our Oldmachar Skills - Innovative Thinker, Collaborative Communicators, Ambitious Learners, Considerate Citizens and Adaptable Individuals - skills that are just as vital as academic success.
The offer changes every year but information will be made available to parents early in the year for residential trips to ensure the cost can be spread and make it as affordable as possible. We are committed to making these opportunities accessible to all. Financial support is available for families on lower incomes, ensuring every pupil has the chance to take part in these enriching experiences.
