Communication

Communication with parents is very important to us, we are continually striving to make our processes streamlined, purposeful and manageable to try to ensure parents receive the right information at the right time and work in real partnership to improve outcomes for their children.  If you have any suggestions regarding how we could do this more effectively please contact the school office FAO Claire Grugeon.

For sharing learning and engaging parents in curriculum work, we use Google Classroom in mainstream and See Saw in ASN.

We conduct 1-1 face to face meetings as and when required.

For all pastoral support we communicate via telephone and email, organising face to face or virtual meetings as an when required.

We have a school calendar on the website sharing dates.

We share a month ahead link via email.

We have shared a parental engagement calendar and information leaflet explaining the how and why of reporting.

Each of our mainstream classes has a Google Classroom page, your child should have a username and log in that they can use to access this.

Parents will receive a 'Guardian Email' summary to show what has been shared on the classroom including (but not limited to):

Please note Google Classroom is a learning tool and should not be used for parents to contact class teachers. If you wish to get in contact with your child's class teacher please contact the school office to arrange an appointment.

Our Additional Support Needs classes use SeeSaw, your child will be given a unique username and password to access the app.  This is where up to date information on what your child is doing in school will be shared.

Information is also sent via email and the xpressions app.

School Communication Digital Parent Learning HUB

Aberdeen's Digital Learning Hub for parents and carers has been updated. The refreshed resources are designed to help parents and carers build confidence and knowledge to support their child’s learning at home.  The amount of information available online can be overwhelming so we have created a trusted space with quality information and advice for parents and carers. There are helpful tips, links and ideas for learning, supporting parenting and family well-being.

Visit the Parent Learning Hub. The website will be updated regularly with new content.  Further information about sharing on social media can be found on EduSharepoint.
