Mile End School
Inclusion that celebrates diversity with pupils aspiring to excellence.
Mr George Roberts
Head Teacher's Welcome
On behalf of the staff, pupils and parents I would like to welcome you to Mile End School website.
Mile End School is situated in the Midstocket area of Aberdeen, in the North East of Scotland. We are a local authority (Aberdeen City Council) school and follow Scotland’s Curriculum for Excellence.
Our school offers a unique primary experience for our pupils as we provide education for around 80 preschool and over 500 primary pupils, which includes 80 pupils with additional support needs, within 8 specialist classrooms. This means our school does not just serve the Midstocket community, it reaches across the whole of Aberdeen City.
Our school was opened in 2010 and offers us excellent accommodation and the most wonderful school grounds to work, play and learn in.
We have a dedicated and highly skilled staff team, of almost one hundred, who strive to ensure that all our children are challenged and supported to thrive, not just academically but as individuals.
We are committed to our school values; “Inclusion that celebrates diversity with pupils aspiring to excellence”. We believe that all children should be happy and confident learners and aim to support and encourage our pupils to lead their own learning and foster a passion for learning. We deliver a coherent and relevant curriculum to all our pupils that provides depth and breadth of experiences; where individual talents can be spotted and nurtured to ensure that all our pupils experience success, develop ambition and reach their full potential.
At Mile End School it is important that children feel valued and parents are welcomed as partners in their child’s education. We firmly believe that education is a partnership between home and school and regard parents as an active partner in all aspects of school life.
