As we continue to support all pupils at Kirkhill to take pride in their school and their learning, I would like to take this opportunity to remind you of our expectations around school uniform for our next school session.
Wearing a school uniform is important as it promotes a sense of belonging and identity within our school community. It helps to create a positive learning environment by reducing distractions, encourages equality among pupils, and fosters pride in being part of Kirkhill.
To ensure consistency, please see our uniform expectations below:
P1–P6:
Black trousers, leggings, shorts, skirts or pinafores
White polo shirt
Grey jumper/cardigan or bottle green jumper/cardigan
Black school shoes or black trainers
Green checked dress
P7:
Black trousers, leggings, shorts or skirts
White polo shirt
P7 leavers hoodie
If not wearing a leavers hoodie, a black jumper/cardigan should be worn
Black school shoes or black trainers
We are introducing bottle green as an additional option, as we are aware that sourcing grey jumpers can sometimes be a challenge for families.
PE Days: Children should no longer come to school in PE clothing of their choice. On PE days, pupils are expected to wear to school:
White t-shirt or polo shirt
School jumper
Black joggers or shorts
Appropriate PE shoes
We also ask that all uniform items are non-branded (e.g. no large logos such as Nike, Adidas, etc.). This supports equity across our school, reduces unnecessary cost pressures for families, and helps maintain a consistent and smart appearance for all pupils.
Please also note the following important points:
Crocs and other slide-on footwear are not appropriate for school at any time
Jackets should be removed when indoors
Pupils should not wear jewellery to school
Fake/acrylic nails should not be worn, as this can pose a safety risk during PE and active play
Makeup should not be worn to school
All clothing and belongings should be clearly labelled

We greatly appreciate your support in helping us maintain high standards and ensuring all pupils are dressed appropriately and ready to learn each day.
