P1- Numeracy Grid 1 Activity

Literacy – sounds and reading

In Primary 1, 2 or 3 sounds a week are sent home for you to reinforce with your child. Words and reading is introduced as and when each child is ready. Numeracy and HWS grids will be sent home weekly and the learners need to complete one task of their choice within a week. The activities on the grids are to extend or reinforce learning that has taken place in the classroom. Parents/carers are expected to sign the activities once they are complete

P2-7 Homework will be issued weekly in the format of three grids which are Literacy, Numeracy and Health & Wellbeing. Learners should pick one activity of their choice from each grid to complete. The activities on the grids are to extend or reinforce learning that has taken place in the classroom and should take no longer than 30 minutes. Parents/carers are expected to sign the activities once they are complete.

Reading may be set over and above the grids depending on the age and stage of the learners. As the learners get older, more emphasis is placed on research tasks around texts rather than reading set pages. As always, we encourage parents/carers to discuss any reading with their child.
