Art Department Link-up

During terms 3 and 4, staff from the Art Department plan and implement a series of lessons with all P7 pupils across the ASG. The purpose of this is to create shared experiences and develop subject-specific skills, ready to start S1.

One of the highlights of the transitions programme is the Memory Box Challenge. This is an activity, created by the Art Department, focusing on the individuality of each pupil. These are enjoyable to create and are often kept for years to come. Importantly, they also also inform staff about the new S1 intake.

In order to build familiarity and confidence, pupils are invited up for an additional visit to the academy, spending some time in the Art Department. This may include spending some time in the  workshop and the Home Economics hub.
