Girls in Energy is a course run by NESCol and sponsored by Shell. The course aims to open up the Energy Industry to females. The course is heavily skills based with opportunities to visit various Shell sites to learn first hand about the sector. Everyone that completes the course even gets a free iPad to keep. This course is available to S5/6 Girls.
Foundation Apprenticeship in Social Services & Healthcare is delivered by Bon Accord Care. The class is in ABZ Campus and open is to all Aberdeen City Schools. You will experience 2 afternoons per week of 'theory' and 1 day per week of placements. This can be built into your school timetable. If you are interested in working in Healthcare or Social Care, this course is an excellent choice for you. The experience of placement alone will set you apart from other job, college or university applicants.

Aberlour Futures
Foundation Apprenticeship in Children & Young People is delivered by Aberlour Futures. The class is based in Bridge of Don Academy and open to all Aberdeen City Schools. You will experience 2 afternoons per week of 'theory' and 1 day per week of placement in a Childcare setting. This can be built into your school timetable. If you are interested in working with children (early years, teaching, children's nursing etc) this course is an excellent choice for you. The experience of placement alone will set you apart from other job, college or university applicants.

Career Ready
This is a new course being offered in partnership with North East of Scotland College. This is for S6 pupils and has been planned to allow a 'blended' experience of School and Higher Education. This will prepare young people for the next step to University and allow them to study in depth in an area they are interested in.
This advanced level course will further enhance your understanding of key business functions and provide you with an invaluable, detailed overview of the business world. You will acquire a wide range of transferable skills, highly sought after by employers, ensuring you are well-equipped for progression towards further study or direct entry into employment. If you are interested in studying any of the following courses at University, this course is a very good option for you: Business, Accounting, Law, Economics and Marketing.
This course will help you stand out from the crowd if you are applying to one of the courses listed above. If you successfully complete the course you will have the opportunity to progress into Year 2 of a Business Degree at RGU.

Aberdeen City School's work together to offer courses to any pupils in the city. This allows for more courses, particularly Advanced Highers, to run.
