As athletes, students have the Number 1 role in shaping their ultimate experience. Here are my expectations as coach. Students will:
I started playing ultimate back in 2000 while in graduate school at the UofM after several prompts from a professor to "try this new sport." I tried it and got hooked! I played with the UofM women's club team, Flywheel, for 1 year while I finished school. Then I tried out and made the Ann Arbor women's club travel team, Clutch. What followed were hundreds of tournaments played over the next 10 years and a series of trips to frisbee nationals. The highest my team finished was 12th in the US (not too bad for the Midwest!). I met my husband through ultimate and developed a close circle of friends from those years on Clutch that exists even today. What I love about ultimate is that you don't even realize how much exercise you are getting because it is just so much fun to play!
