What are the new features of AAP Photos?

Some of the new features you can benefit from are online transactions, the ability to view your order history and multiple lightboxes.

If you are a subscriber you will be able to show search results based on just your Subscriber Content or show All Content in AAP Photos.

How will the change affect me?

AAP Photos is an evolution of AAP One, with enhanced features, search tools and the ability to download and purchase online. Keep reading to learn how it will affect you as a current customer.

Subscriptions

Subscribers have contracted rates and your subscription includes a monthly quota. You have a login and can download content you have subscribed to. You have a quota of assigned images that allows you to download at no additional cost; once your limit is reached, you can continue downloading at the contracted rates.

With AAP Photos, this will remain the same. However, content that you access from your filter group will be charged the agreed rates for images based on the credit source, and this will be invoiced to the client. All other content not included in your filter group will be visible by selecting All Content at the top of search results, and purchased via a credit card at the standard prices.

Casual downloads

Casual users request images form our sales team, who quote for a licence based on your intended usage. You don’t have contracted rates or a contract with AAP.

You can continue to contact our image sales team and now you can also search for images and download yourself—creating an instant online quote and purchasing for your license online with your credit card.

You will be able to keep track of your purchases and create an account with us at no extra cost.

Pay Per Download

You currently have contracted rates based on credit source, but you do not have a subscription and you pay for every download. You have a login and can download content that you are subscribed to based on predefined editorial restrictions. Every item downloaded is charged at the contracted rates. Currently you cannot access content that is not in your contract, this content would need to be manually supplied by your account manager.

You will have access to your Subscriber Content as well as All Content on the AAP Photos site.

Content that you access from your filter group will be charged the agreed rate for images based on the credit source—not size or use type—and invoiced to the client. All other content not included in the group filter will be able to be purchased via a credit card at pre-determined standard prices based on usage.

Pay Per Usage

You do not have contracted rates in the system, but you may have existing rates through an account manager. You may download images but you need to report your exact usage back to your account manager. You have a login and can download content you are permissioned for based on pre-defined groups and editorial restrictions.

This option will no longer exist and will change slightly. You can still download images within your filter group and must declare volume and usage, and this will be charged at your contracted rate. However, all other content will be deemed as a casual sale with casual pricing that can be purchased with a credit card.

I currently download multiple images, declare my usage and only pay for what I have used. Will this change?

This will change slightly. You can still download images and must declare volume and usage, and this will be charged at your contracted rates. However, all other content will be deemed as a casual sale with casual pricing that can be purchased with a credit card.

Will I be able to see my previous download history from AAP One?

Yes you will. The reports page will detail all your previous download history

How will I know which images are a part of my subscription, which ones are not?

All Images that you can download automatically will be part of your subscription. If you need to purchase the asset by clicking the Purchase License button, this means that the item is not part of your subscription.

I have set rates for my image downloads. How does this new change affect me?

There will be no change to your access and quota structure. The content that you access from your filter group will be charged based on agreed rates for images based on the credit source and will be invoiced to you. All other content not on the group filter access will be able to be accessed by selecting All Content at the top of search results, and purchased via a credit card at the predetermined standard prices.

I already have a login for AAP One, do I need a new one?

No, you can use your existing AAP One log in to access AAP Photos.

Will my existing lightboxes be affected by this change?

Apart from the new look and feel, your previous lightboxes will not be affected and you will be able to access them from the Lightbox page.

Do I need to pay for any of the new features on AAP Photos?

You do not have to pay for these new features.

Will this website change mean that I will now pay more for images?

An image I want to license is not a part of my subscription, can I still license it?

Yes, you can. You will be able to purchase images that are not part of your subscription with a credit card, at predetermined standard rates.

I am seeing a menu at the top of search results with Subscriber Content and All Content. What does this mean?

All Content is a new filter on AAP Photos search results. It allows you, as a new or existing subscriber, to view images not normally included in your subscription, and purchase licences. Simply select whichever option you prefer for viewing results.

I have a subscription and I currently get invoiced at the end of each month. What happens when I exceed my quota?

This will not change. You will still be invoiced at the end of each month. However, images purchased out of your quota will be charged at predetermined standard prices, and need to be purchased with a credit card.

I am seeing content that is not part of my agreement with AAP. Why is that?

The new AAP Photos website has a new option to view All Content. This filter allows you to view content not normally included as part of your subscription, but which you might want to review and purchase.

Who is my account manager?
