Testing Information for school year 2025-2026

SAT school day- April 15th, 2026, All test takers( 11th and 10th graders) will arrive at 8:30 AM 

High School Testing Overview

Some high school tests are administered by the school during school hours at specific times of the year, while others require students to register, pay for, and take the test outside of school. Students and parents should pay close attention to the types and timing of tests required for graduation and college applications. It's important to make a plan and consult with school counselors to determine which tests to take and when to take them.

Quarterly Assessments: In AACPS high schools, students take quarterly assessments in all courses. Each quarterly counts for 10% of the student's overall grade. These assessments may be:

• Traditional: Multiple-choice, short answer, essays

• Performance-based: Projects, presentations, portfolios

State-Based Testing (MCAP)

Required for Graduation

AACPS students take the following Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP) tests aligned with Maryland College and Career Ready Standards (MCCRS):

• MISA Science (Maryland Integrated Science Assessment)
  
  

🕒 MCAP assessments are scheduled for Quarter 4 (typically early May). Each test begins at 8:30 AM, and students must bring their fully charged AACPS-issued device. Students without their device may not be able to test.
