Hello Families,
The ACCESS for ELLs (WIDA) testing window begins on January 7. The testing is required for all ELL students.
ACCESS for ELLs is a federally mandated annual assessment that measures English Language Learners’ progress in English proficiency, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The results help schools ensure students receive appropriate and effective instruction, identify those who may need additional support, place students in appropriate classes, and track progress toward English proficiency. The assessment is also used for accountability and reclassification decisions to support student success across all academic subjects.
Your child is required to sit for WIDA testing. They will receive testing information—including the date, time, and testing location—from their teachers or via a pass from their first-period teacher. Please take a moment to speak with your child about the importance of attending their assigned exam time and ensure they arrive at school on time with a fully charged, school-issued Chromebook.
Thank you for your continued support in helping ensure your child’s success.
