Use Proper Spelling, Grammar & Punctuation
Use the spell check option
Read your message, at least twice, before you hit send
Proper use of Upper Case/Lower Case
Use a Meaningful Subject
When you send an email about a certain document in CMMI, it is better to mention the actual name of the document, e.g. 'PIID' than to just say 'CMMI Doc' in the subject.
Do not use old emails with an old subject to send a new email just because the copy list has all the people that one needs to send the new email to.
Don't unnecessarily change or add to the subject line.
Attachments
If you are sending an attachment, make sure that the attachment is attached.
Reply Promptly
Each e-mail should be replied to within at least 24 hours, preferably within the same working day.
Don't Leave Out the Message Thread

Use Cc: Field Sparingly

When using multiple recipients in the To: field, make sure to address the person(s) in the Message where the response is expected from.
Use Proper Structure, Layout and Format
Use short paragraphs and blank lines between each paragraph.
Use plain text unless formatting is absolutely necessary.
When using colors, use a color that is easy to read on the background
