Teaching

At York I teach undergraduate and Masters courses in a range of subject areas: language variation and change, sociolinguistics, phonetics and phonology, and forensic phonetics. I am also the Course Director for the MSc in Forensic Speech Science.

I supervise MA and PhD dissertations in these areas, and particularly welcome postgraduate enquiries from people whose interests are in sociophonetics, forensic phonetics and phonological acquisition.
